JR Dream Design System

Photography

Working guidance for authentic imagery, composition, cropping, permissions and accessible delivery.

Authentic architecture, visible everyday work

The working direction is Authentic Architectural & Operational Photography: real environments, clear compositions and credible human involvement. It supports JR Dream as an operations-focused business evolving through technology, within Architectural Minimalism with Technical Precision.

Photographs should explain the environment or activity, not imply luxury development, artificial technology, a larger organisation or unverified results. The documentation is a reference for future corporate and digital experiences, not the corporate website itself.

Only schematic placeholders are used on this page.

No authorised JR Dream photographs are available in the repository. The five external reference photographs inside the PDF remain public-use Hold. They have not been extracted, downloaded, hotlinked or republished here. No photography was generated.

These are internally accepted working guidelines, pending practical implementation testing and final company approval. The PDF records its original study as internally proposed.

Photographic principles

Source-defined photography direction
DimensionWorking guidance
SubjectReal buildings, shared spaces, practical equipment, work activity and purposeful collaboration.
CompositionOne clear subject, stable lines and enough environmental context to understand the scene.
Natural lightPrefer soft daylight or open shade. Preserve the actual time and operating conditions.
Artificial lightUse practical lighting when it explains the space; manage mixed casts without unnatural materials or skin.
White balanceNeutral to gently warm and scene-appropriate. No universal Kelvin setting.
Exposure / contrastRetain useful shadow and highlight detail; moderate contrast, without crushed blacks, glowing windows or dramatic HDR.
Framing / perspectiveLevel camera and credible verticals. Avoid extreme wide angles that exaggerate room size.
DepthUseful spatial relationships; selective focus must not hide critical context.
PeopleNatural posture, a clear task and suitable permission. Label staged portraits as portraits, not candid operational evidence.
ConsistencyMatch restraint, composition and tonal quality without forcing different environments into identical colours.

Architecture supplies structure; genuine work supplies credibility. Technology should appear through truthful equipment and purposeful workflows, rather than digital holograms or artificial effects. People need a meaningful activity and suitable consent, not an unsupported team or professional-role claim.

Subject categories and selection priorities

Working categories, not verified sites or capabilities
CategoryPrioritiseAvoid / verify
Property managementExterior and entrance, lobby, circulation/shared space, cleared genuine inspection context.Trophy towers, villa pools and skylines are not portfolio evidence.
Facilities managementEquipment in context; maintenance coordination; hands, task and equipment; visible safe-work context.Verify certification, site branding and any technical performance claim.
Accommodation managementTruthful room dimensions, shared kitchens/bathrooms/communal spaces, authorised housekeeping or maintenance. No resort staging, hidden defects, invented capacity or claim that reference furnishings are a JR Dream specification.
Project consultancyActual site observation, discussion and reviewed documentation, with permissions.Protect drawings/client details; do not invent scale or completion.
Corporate identityGenuine team/leadership portraits, workplace, natural collaboration and verified local context.Stock people are not Our team; a generic building is not Our office.

Start with an authorised exterior and entrance, a shared space, an equipment detail and a genuine coordination scene. Add people after consent and context are ready. The source proposes 8–12 useful authorised images for a practical first shoot; a careful phone shoot can begin coverage, with commissioned work where more control is needed.

For Abu Dhabi context, verify local streets, materials and ordinary built environments. Landmark imagery is context only. None of the source board locations is asserted to be Abu Dhabi, and none is evidence of a JR Dream relationship.

Composition, context and framing

Keep one clear subject, credible verticals, a level viewpoint and enough surroundings to understand the scene. Preserve hands, tools, documents and useful spatial relationships where they explain the activity. A quieter background can support clarity without hiding essential operational context.

Keep headings and explanatory copy on a separate solid surface by default. Negative space is useful only when it preserves meaning; the source does not specify a mandatory composition grid or universal percentage of empty space.

Retain the task context, 4:3: neutral schematic, not a photographThe central rectangle and two darker side blocks represent protected subject context. The full 4:3 source keeps both sides visible.

The blocks are abstract measurement aids, not a building illustration, image category, approved focal point or new graphic motif. Captions and annotations stay outside the crop so text enlargement cannot cut them off.

Lighting, colour and editing

Preserve truthful conditions
Permitted with restraintAvoid / do not do
Crop, straighten and modestly correct perspective while retaining truthful dimensions.Stretch rooms or exaggerate scale through extreme correction.
Restore credible exposure and white balance; preserve materials, skin, highlights and shadows.Orange/green brand filters, cinematic teal/orange grades, dramatic HDR or unrealistically bright rooms.
Conservative sharpening/noise reduction and lens/sensor defect correction.Generatively rebuilt details, invented equipment, changed safety conditions or replaced people.
Exclude confidential content at capture or with a meaning-preserving crop; record redaction.Rebranding third-party facilities, concealing defects in property evidence or removing context to create a false claim.

Use soft daylight/open shade or practical artificial light when it explains the environment. White balance is neutral to gently warm and scene-specific, without a universal Kelvin setting. Do not recolour furnishings or force different environments into the same palette.

No universal gradient, opacity overlay, duotone or brand filter is introduced. The source’s light and dark examples retain the same unchanged photograph and put copy on solid surfaces. Its darker R02 is a task-detail reference; a future shoot should improve practical visibility while preserving truthful conditions.

Crop ratios and responsive subject retention

16:9: Hero / full-width architecture

Starting ratio; review the actual subject and crop.

2:1: Wider hero, conditional

Only with enough image area and a surviving subject.

4:3: Service / cards

Service option and preferred card ratio; retain task context.

3:2: Service alternative

Keep activity, tool and environment together.

1:1: Square thumbnail, conditional

Only when the subject fits without losing meaning.

3:4: Mobile architecture, conditional

Below 600px, only if the subject survives. Tasks/people may retain their original ratio.

Ratios are starting recipes, not a fixed template for every photograph. Profiles and presentation placements use content-appropriate crops, with captions outside. Keep task/people imagery at its original ratio when portrait cropping would remove meaning.

Conditional architectural reframe: neutral schematic, not a photographThis centred abstract subject survives a 16:9 frame and the conditional 3:4 frame below 600px. This tests schematic geometry only, not an approved crop for a real photograph.

Schematic placeholder only. No real site, person, property or operation is depicted.

The source’s R01 focal point starts at approximately 55% across / 65% down. That is an editorial study for R01 only, never a universal object-position. Record focal point, protected subject area and ratio for each approved derivative. A new ratio may require a different photograph, not another focal adjustment.

Digital placements and no-photo cases

Section introduction specimen

Live copy stays on a solid surface, with a meaningful reading order and a separate caption. Approved corporate copy and cleared imagery are still required.

4:3 media placeholder: neutral schematic, not a photographNo photograph supplied. This neutral slot illustrates a service or text-image placement, not a JR Dream project.
4:3 media placeholder

No photograph supplied. This neutral slot illustrates a service or text-image placement, not a JR Dream project.

Schematic placeholder only. No real site, person, property or operation is depicted.

For a corporate hero, the source proposes a 6+6 split at 1024px and above within the 1200px content cap, or a full-width photograph below the copy. Stack below 1024px. A photograph is optional if none is cleared. This documentation excerpt is not a full corporate grid implementation or a change to the sidebar layout.

Image placement and existing token correspondence
PlacementSource behaviour / implementation reference
Service / text-image4:3 or 3:2; preserve reading order and activity/context; 24/32px grouping through --space-24 / --space-32.
Cards / thumbnails4:3 preferred; square only if meaningful. An image may follow an outer --radius-container (8px) card.
Architectural/editorial mediaSquare corners via --radius-none (0px); never apply image crop rules to the complete logo canvas.
Operational location recognitionOnly genuine verified imagery can identify a particular entrance, machine or space. Preserve meaningful markings and dates.
Dashboards, tables and filtersNo decorative photograph; prioritise information, existing icon roles and compact spacing.
Errors / validationPrecise text and established status treatment; unrelated imagery adds no diagnostic value.
Generic onboardingOptional cleared contextual imagery only when it helps orientation; otherwise use a structured light surface and live text.

Editorial content and documentation should include imagery only when it explains relevant subject matter. Generic stock cannot establish the location or condition of a real asset. Do not build a false case study around an illustrative image.

Appropriate and misleading applications

Source-grounded selection comparisons
UseAvoid
Verified, permitted work with factual captions.Stock labelled Our team, Our projects, Managed by JR Dream or a before/after result.
A general illustrative service scene, after rights clearance, with nearby qualifier/credit.Client-logo adjacency or portfolio placement that implies a relationship.
Preserved subjects, credible perspective and live text on a solid surface.Extreme room enlargement, cropped-away task context or text lost over a busy facade.
Real activity and truthful surroundings.Staged handshakes as operational evidence, holograms or unrelated technology effects.
Hold/reject an unknown or uncleared asset; use a text-only section meanwhile.Removing watermarks or relabelling uncertain rights as illustrative to bypass review.

A nearby illustrative qualifier is a credibility requirement separate from a platform’s credit obligation. A distant disclaimer cannot reliably correct a misleading project heading.

QuestionWhat the register records
CopyrightCreator/rights holder and evidence of authority to permit copying and use.
Image licenceTerms/version or receipt, client, permitted channels, edits, territory, duration and expiry.
Model / likeness releaseEvidence or platform confirmation, scope and limitations for identifiable people. Employment does not imply consent.
Property / site permissionAuthorised site/client contact and depiction limits. Shooting access and publication permission are separate.
AttributionRequired wording and placement. Credit never substitutes for the other permissions.

The PDF’s platform review is dated 20 October 2026. It discusses commissioned photography, paid stock, Pexels, Unsplash and possible later generated concepts. This is historical source guidance, not a current asset licence or legal clearance. Verify the exact asset, terms/version, client/use, releases and redistribution rights at intake. No paid stock or commissioned rights were acquired here.

For commissioned work, agree deliverables, usage/assignment, channels, territory, duration, editing, releases and handover in writing. Paying for a shoot is not a rights record. Editorial-only stock is unsuitable for promotional marketing. A credit, preview download or platform permission alone does not resolve every third-party right. Free and premium platform terms can differ.

No separate model/property releases or asset-specific expiry were established by the study. Its photo copies are resized renditions, not camera originals or print masters. Source-page links above identify references; no image bytes are requested from those sites by this page.

Small-team register and release workflow

Keep intake, untouched originals, edits, exports, rights evidence, approved references and retired assets distinct. Record asset ID, creator/rights holder, capture/download date, licence and permissions, scope/expiry, releases, caption/alt, focal points/crops, approver/date and every published placement. The source workflow is intake, rights/context review, edited proof, Joseph’s release approval, then export.

Preserve original received filenames and source masters. Keep crop/treatment history and rights evidence. On replacement, mark Hold/Retired, locate all uses, replace derivatives and captions, refresh caches, check PDFs/slides and retain an audit note. Remove unnecessary precise GPS, personal/confidential metadata from public derivatives while retaining provenance privately.

Generated photographs are not used or requested in this stage. Any separately justified future generated concept requires explicit labelling and terms/context review and cannot serve as team, project or operational evidence.

Accessibility, captions and bilingual use

Informative alternative text conveys the relevant visible content without unverified identities or roles. Describe people reviewing plans without calling them JR Dream engineers. Decorative photographs use empty alternative text when they carry no essential information; do not duplicate visible creator credits in alt text.

Use semantic image/figure/caption relationships and keep the image, caption and source together in reading order. Linked images need a destination/action name. Headings, calls to action, captions and attribution remain live text. A caption is not verified metadata unless its facts and permissions are checked.

Normal text requires 4.5:1, large text 3:1. The source cites white/charcoal at 14.88:1 from the Colour Foundation. Prefer validated solid surfaces. If an overlay is essential, test the actual text area over every selected image/crop; no universal overlay or contrast guarantee is provided.

Choose alt text that remains true of the visible crop. Preserve essential context or revise the selected image and wording. Never mirror a photograph, signage, face, equipment or document for RTL; change layout placement where appropriate using logical spacing. Use the established Arabic typography when approved copy exists. No provisional Arabic PDF sample is reused.

These schematics have accessible SVG titles/descriptions and nearby captions. Their aspect-ratio swatches are decorative, with the meaningful dimensions in live captions. Image links are not demonstrated because no authorised photograph is available. PDF reading order and tagging require separate assistive-technology validation.

Developer delivery and implementation reference

Use source-defined crop recipes and existing spacing, colour and geometry tokens. Intrinsic dimensions reserve space; preserve proportions rather than stretching. Responsive resolution selection and art-directed crop selection solve different problems.

The paths and alt/caption placeholders in these code examples are deliberately non-executable reference scaffolding. They are not supplied photographs, approved translations or production components. Set sizes for the real rendered slot, including margins and split layouts, and verify fallback/loading behaviour after genuine assets exist.

Provisional delivery recipes, not measured performance
ItemSource starting point
Useful widths640 / 960 / 1280 / 1600 / 1920px, capped by the licensed source resolution.
FormatsAVIF/WebP with JPEG fallback; inspect quality in actual use.
Hero150–350KB; review quality and real page performance.
Service70–180KB; review quality and real page performance.
Thumbnail30–70KB; review quality and real page performance.
LoadingLazy-load below-fold images. Keep an important above-fold hero eager; do not hotlink production imagery without checking source/API rules.
Native A4 output170 × 259mm live area; 300ppi is a starting recipe. A 170mm-wide image needs about 2008 pixels at 300ppi, not a guaranteed printer requirement.
PresentationsRetain accepted typography and 48pt inline / 36pt block safe margins; keep captions and copy editable. Physical/projector proof remains necessary.

The current Next.js configuration has no external image hosts, and only the existing Logo page uses Next Image for its original SVGs. No image configuration or dependency is changed here. Genuine future raster imagery requires asset-specific processing, responsive sizing and loading tests; the logo’s SVG handling is not a general raster recipe.

Do not upscale a resized PDF reference and describe it as a high-resolution original. Obtain rights-cleared full-resolution sources before large web exports or physical print. CSS pixels, millimetres and points remain separate units.

Validation and approval status

The PDF reports five external references, crop studies and 20 static image/caption specimens. Its text-box-width checks are source-study evidence, not browser, alt-text, screen-reader or complete reflow certification for this website.

Task-specific implementation checks are recorded in docs/stage-02.2g-implementation.md. This page validates schematic layout behaviour only. It does not establish photographic quality, authentic site relationships, third-party rights clearance or image-delivery performance.

  • Genuine JR Dream imagery, factual captions, site/client/subject permissions and final public-use release remain pending.
  • All five source-board references remain Hold; no redistribution rights or releases were newly verified by this task.
  • Real image crop/focal choices, format fallback, byte budgets, loading priority and performance need licensed assets and later browser/device testing.
  • Real devices, screen readers, actual browser zoom/reflow, text spacing, native forced colours and accessible PDF tagging remain pending.
  • Competent Arabic/native-reader review, real bilingual content, physical print/projector proofs and final company approval remain pending.

Review the Colour, Spacing and Geometry foundations before reuse. No corporate website, production image library or new graphics/motif system is created.

Photographic specimens remain pending authorised assets. No final company approval is claimed.
